“I warned you.” Steve was more amused than angry. He’d had plans for today, but the way things turned out was even better than anything he had planned. Tony was naked in front of him except for his collar, hands behind his back, trying to stand as lightly as possible.
“I know,” Tony groaned, shifting slightly then wincing.
“What did I say?” Steve sauntered around Tony, staring just because he could, enjoying the way the sunlight played over the slighter man’s muscles and skin.
“That I should adjust the umbrella before I fell asleep because today is Play Day and I was going to regret it.”
“And what did you say?”
“I told you to stop being a worrywart,” Tony said wearily.
“And what happened?” Steve was back around the front of Tony so he could see the slight flush that rose on Tony’s cheekbones as he answered.
“I have a sunburn on the bottom of my feet.”
“And it’s Play Day.” Steve grinned.
“And it’s Play Day.” Tony winced.

Steve wasn’t paying any attention to his book at all. He was turning the pages whenever he remembered them just for verisimilitude, but his attention was all on Tony. It depends on what I’m writing, this year I listened to a tonne of Clppng’s Splendor and Misery, which is an amazing story and excellent music, and also fast enough that it’s easy to ignore the words.

Slightly repetitive- Agency Boy

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
I don’t really remember specific lines… I did quite like Tony volunteering to be Steve’s weighted blanket in Closer to Fine but that’s more of a concept than a line.

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?
How easy drabbles got after a month of regular practice! I got really good at writing a draft within a couple words of an even hundred XD

6. Favorite title you used

I am so bad at titles, they tend to just be pretty descriptive (See: Six Weeks) but I was a little proud of Synthesis, meaning bringing a bunch of parts together to form a whole can both refer to the story structure and the growing Stuckony relationships.

7. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the
most?

I don’t use song lyrics, I just put on songs and have feelings about them that are more complicated/angsty than I want to write XD

8. Pairing you wrote the most for this year?

14 for Steve/Tony!
Close second is Steve/Tony/Bucky at 11.
I only had 3 for Steve/Bucky, which needs to change.

9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?

Steve/Tony have been giving me a lot of classic leather kink vibes and I’ve been having a bunch of fun with that this year. And now that I think of that, and have gone back to check, Sineala finished posting The Devil in Us All on Dec 31 2021 and I’m pretty sure that flavoured my entire 2022.

10. What work was the quickest to write?

Not sure exactly, but a bunch of the SteveTony games ones were in approx. 20 minutes.

11, What work took you the longest to write?

The unposted WIPs XD

But of posted things, probably the All Aces series. I like them so much! But they’re all about internal processing and they’re tricky to get things to come across the way I want.

12. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?

I should go through everything and sort my files and track all the WIP’s I’ve forgotten about. But I have cookies to make today. Maybe there will be another answer to this in a couple weeks.

13. What’s your longest work of the year?

An Agency Boy at 5767 words. Or the 7600 word drabble series for the SteveTony Games but that doesn’t really count. It’s mostly one chapter to minimize spamming my subscribers and because I didn’t want to tag/title each one individually.

14. What’s your shortest work of the year?

All the 100 word drabbles (drabbles are 100 words exactly! This is a hill I will die on! XD)

15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you?

I have a Winterhawk D/s AU that I’ve been plugging away at for about 3 years now. I have the rest of the Club Hydra bdsm club fic that’s still happening. I’ve got a bunch of Being Mean verse that I have planned and just not written.

… Yeah, I have a distinct theme in my writing XD

1. How many words have you written this year?

I don’t track how much I’ve written, but I’ve published 52,968, which is about 20K more than the previous 2 years! That’s kind of boggling, considering how blocked I’ve felt this year.

2. How many works did you publish this year?

30 fics! Though that bundles all my SteveTony games drabbles into one fic. Splitting those out it’s 71. I didn’t do many bingos this year, I wonder if that’s why it feels like I’ve done less...

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

It’s cheating a little, but I’m really proud of what I created for the SteveTony games. That whole month was a challenge and a whole lot of fun. If I had to pick a specific, maybe Getting to Know You, which has a surprising amount of plot for my typical fics :D

4. What work of yours has the most hits?

An Agency Boy which was a lot of fun device/predicament bondage with roleplay for Executive Tony and his office toy Steve.

Six Weeks came in a in a close second (40 hits difference), with 6 weeks of orgasm denial for Tony and his reward afterward.

I’m not surprised the smut gets the hits :D

5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?

I was really happy that Synthesis got the response it got. As a fic told in drabbles it was a bit of a stylistic stretch and it was done for a stocking fill, so I was happy it worked out like it did (And thankful to the organizers who let me stretch the due date a little bit so I could get my plans things finished after life got a little busier than expected)

Sneak Peek for Dreamwidth?

I'm planning on posting some sneak peaks of drafts, unfinished projects, drabbles, whatever over this three weeks for dreamwidth time.

This one is actually the thing that got me back to writing after the 10 year break between White Collar and Avengers. I dreamed about a line from the end of the fic, and then had to write the whole damn thing just to get to that moment. It's a 2 year WIP, longfic not being my forte, and eventually I'll post it, but I want to get it much closer to done so I don't have to worry about leaving it unfinished.

It's an eventual Winterhawk D/S AU. This snip is from the opening scene.

My Full STB Bingo card

Here's the masterpost of my stb-bingo fills!

This Bingo was a lot of fun, and I ended up with a bit of everything. Drabbles, smut, sweetness, and a full set of relevant pairings (Steve\Tony, Tony/Bucky, Steve/Bucky and Steve/Tony/Bucky) though I somehow managed only one Steve/Bucky which is surprising.

This is a full square, minus one, because the Bookstore AU has been plaguing me since the beginning and I figure the only way I could get it is by saying I'm not going to do it :D So who knows, this may be updated in a week for one last minute fill. But I'm calling it done now.

Lastest fics: Being Mean to Tony series.
(I changed the title on A03 because there's enough weirdness with character bashing that I wanted to make it clear that it was a Kinky Mean)

This is entirely encouraged/inspired by people on discord. It's... pretty heavy kink and has sexual content, though the sex is rarely the focus.

It's been kinda fun to write this and find a way it still feels true to the characters (or at least true to how I imagine them in this situation, characterizations are pretty flexible when you have a canon as weird as comics).

The best way it settled into my head is that Tony's the one driving this, and part of Steve/Bucky's fun is figuring out the logistics to making Tony's fantasies happen in a way that's safe for everyone. The Tony's Terrible Bad Day was a lot of fun to write because I had the last chapter (snippits of the fic from other people's POVs) in my head the entire time.

Also, blindfolding your partner is often given as a good trick for new tops/doms because it means your bottom/sub doesn't see the confused look on your face and can help you maintain confidence. That worked well here too, trying to write a full day of 3 bodies gets a lot easier when you're doing strict POV with someone who can't see.
